GRACE
I imagined myself as a grown-up.
I never craved the perfect, picket-white fence.
I dreamt of luxury with Diana’s grace.

As I close my eyes I’m brought through this magical place.
Taken towards,
seas of green, and skies of blue and I couldn’t forget the breezes too.
-where I could smell the sweetness in the air.
Living, happily and independently.

But somewhere along; the lines blurred...
Still the same dreams but -here I was- love hungry?
With a longing for the oh-so-famous “ONE TRUE LOVE”
….LOVE?
SOMEWHERE BETWEEN “MOMMY DOESN’T CARE” AND “DADDY WASN’T THERE”
Was me.
READING GREEN EGGS AND HAM.
ALWAYS Trapped BEHIND A FAN.
AND ADMIST IT ALL I STILL FOUND HIM.

CONFUSED.

I THOUGHT IT WERE LOVE.
JUST CRAVING WHAT I’D NEVER FELT.
EXPECTING Unconditional LOVE.

WHEN I HADN’T FIRST GIVEN IT TO MYSELF.
LIFE IS LIKE THE MOVIES; BUT INCLUDING DELETED SCENES.

OH, IF ONLY WE KNEW WHAT LOVE ALL TRULY CONSIST OF-
WE’D BE HAPPIER
WE WOULD’VE AVOIDED HEARTACHES
FROM HEARTBREAK.

LOVE IS MANY THINGS,
COMPRISED IN ONE
COMMON EMOTION.

WE MUST FIRST LOVE OURSELVES.
